What are the dance steps used in pop upbeat songs, like the pussycat dolls and brittney spears videos?

I was wondering what dancing style is used for videos such as the ones mentioned in my question. I can’t tell if it’s hip hop or jazz. What is the difference? The thing is I hear songs like those on the radio and I feel like dancing, but I’m inventing steps up. I would like to know some so I can practice and not invent anymore. Does anyone recommend some websites so I can learn those dances? When would I come to ever use jazz steps?
